The Spyderco C279TIP Thyn is a compact evolution of Michele Pensato's Skinny design, manufactured by lionSTEEL exclusively for Spyderco. Its full-flat-ground drop-point blade is made from Böhler-Uddeholm M390 particle metallurgy stainless steel.

The blade features a crowned spine and offers two one-handed opening methods: Spyderco's Trademark Round Hole and a flipper tab. Ball-bearing washers provide smooth blade action, while the one-piece titanium handle is machined using lionSTEEL's SOLID technology.

The handle has a durable gray PVD coating and a black-and-white Dark Matter Polar FatCarbon inlay. A Reeve Integral Lock with hardened-steel interface secures the blade, while the reversible deep-pocket clip supports discreet left- or right-side carry.
